CVWG’s Challenge! Show
So that we can continue our monthly Challenge! Art Show, we have to pull our April Challenge! ahead by a few days to work around some conflicts. April’s Challenge! has different deadlines:
- Images of paintings must be submitted by Monday, April 19
- Challenge! Art Show by Zoom will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 22
These changes are noted, below, as well as on our Challenge! web page.
Our March Challenge! again, drew an enthusiastic response by our artist-members. We had an all-time high of 22 paintings by 20 artists depicting the theme of “Hint of Spring”. On Monday, March 22, we held our Art Show by Zoom to enjoy the paintings, hear from the artists, and engage with questions and feedback. Take a look at their creations:

A reminder and preview that our April Challenge! is scheduled:
- The theme for April is “Color Mix“;
- Get creative with all those great colors in your palette
- Base your painting on a color you rarely use
- Loosen up, relax, open your creative mind, and “go with it!”
- Send a photo of your creation along with title to CVWG’s Webmaster by the entry deadline of Monday, April 19;
- Join the “Challenge! by Zoom” meeting at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 22 where the works will be shared in full-screen and the artists will share their “stories”.
- All Guild members will get an invitation to the Challenge! by Zoom” meeting on the morning of the Zoom call. Friends and Followers of our Guild are welcome to show your painting and/or attend our Zoom meeting but you must send an email to our CVWG Webmaster to be included.
CVWG’s Exhibit at The Center– June-July
We continue to remind you that CVWG ‘s exhibition at The Center in Charlottesville is now scheduled for June through July 2021. Member and Past President, Linda Verhagen is leading CVWG’s efforts for this exhibition. Entry for this show is open so contact Linda to enter your work. Our webpage for that exhibit has been updated so please check out that page for latest details.
Member News
It has been a slow month for receiving news from our members but we did get this one item:
I haven’t had time to participate in the challenge because I’m in the midst of completing some new work for a show I’ll be staging in early May. I hope everyone has a good time and I look forward to in-person CVWG meetings in the not too distant future.
