Drawing to Painting with Bill Snow

CVWG’s final workshop of 2019 featured member Bill Snow leading 23 students in two days of instruction in how he uses detailed drawings to develop and improve his watercolor art. Bill encouraged the students to develop multiple detailed drawings of various sizes, arrangement of key elements, and cropping in planning the overall painting.

Painting the Blue Ridge Mountains with Peg Sheridan

Member Peg Sheridan led a three day workshop covering how she approaches painting a wide variety of subjects that are commonly found in our local Blue Ridge Mountains including ridge lines, atmospheric perspective, rocks, trees, fog, and waterfalls.

Peg’s instruction including mixing color, painting wet-in-wet, creating texture, saving whites, painting composition, planning values, and choosing a limited palette.
