2019 Courthouse Show

Courthouse Cake

We were so delighted by the many members who entered our April Judged Courthouse Show. The enthusiasm was very evident as 29 artists entered a wonderful showing of 53 paintings, thus enabling us to display a significant number of paintings on two floors. Courthouse workers tell us how much they enjoy seeing our art!

Karen Rosasco, our judge and nationally known artist and teacher, did an excellent job of providing written critiques for each participating artist and in choosing the award winners:

$50 Merit Awards:
Trish Crowe, “Saints and Angels”
Carolyn Ratcliffe, “Leopard in a Tree”
Marcy Springett, “Made by her own hands”

Honorable Mentions:
Karen Perkins, “Garden Paths”
Rosemary Connelly, “Tulip Tree”
Dianne Phillips, “Eagle”

Winners peruse their critiques (l. to r. Rosemary Connelly, Dianne Phillips, Marcy Springett, Trish Crowe and Carolyn Ratcliffe. Karen Perkins not pictured)

Everyone enjoyed a celebratory time at our May meeting as the critiques were given out and the awards were announced. Our meeting ended with the sharing of a beautiful cake, decorated with the many colors of a palette.

Enjoy some free time and come see our show which will be available to view thru July 21st  9am ~ 5pm M-F The courthouse is located at 501 Jefferson St. —Carolyn Ratcliffe

  1. I’m so sorry to have missed seeing all the wonderful entries in the last courthouse show. Will definitely make it a priority of seeing all the current paintings there for this quarter.
