At our last Guild meeting on October 28th, the Board presented the slate of officers for the 2020 term. A vote of the Guild membership was taken and the slate of officers unanimously passed. ( No surprise there).

Congratulations to our Officers with our profound “Thank you for serving”.
On Monday, October 28th, CVWG member Linda Bethke presented a slide show and demonstration titled “In Search of Texture”.
Linda also allowed four of our members to participate, guiding them on how to use her techniques. Carolyn Belt, Patricia Travers, Brenda Grant and Jennifer Jarrett were selected to have the opportunity to practice Linda’s demonstration techniques.
Our thanks go to Linda for an excellent program for our members!
Our September program was an autobiographical talk and slide show by Nancy Stark of Roanoke, Va relating her personal journey from mathematician to professional artist.
On Monday, July 22nd CVWG members were treated to a slide show and painting demonstration by our fellow member, Peg Sheridan. Her slide show used master and contemporary painters to illustrate the value of using neutrals and grays in our paintings. Some of the artists recommended for inspiration include Wyeth, Sargent, Whistler, Turner as well as Castagnet and Dobie.
Peg also demonstrated a variety of techniques to apply paint to create neutrals and grays. She shared some of her favorite color combinations of Bright Orange/Prussian Blue, Cobalt Green/Quinacridone Magenta and Bismuth Yellow/Mineral Violet emphasizing how contrasting colors can create beautiful neutral colors much like she uses in her own work.
On Monday, June 24th, 2019 our members were treated to a talk by Susan Stuller about her current work and her process for creating dynamic compositions.
