Welcome to the new website for the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild (CVWG)! As you can see by browsing the site, I am continuing many of the same features and information from our previous site. So, this should not be much of a change for most of you.
I want to extend my personal thanks to Rosemary Connelly, CVWG’s original webmaster, for her leadership and guidance in this transition.
Happy painting, Rosemary!
Allow me to introduce myself…
I am Mark Fitzpatrick, the new webmaster. I am an engineer by education and through my career, I worked for IBM and Lockheed Martin corporations in a variety of technical, leadership, and management roles and positions. I retired in 2014 as Director of Engineering and Chief Engineer for Lockheed Martin’s submarine programs in Manassas, Va.
After retiring, my wife and I started a not-for-profit corporation that same year providing volunteer driving services to allow Fairfax County (Va) seniors to get to medical and food pantry appointments. In 2018, realizing our two sons were not moving back to northern Virginia, we moved to Charlottesville area.
While learning to paint with watercolor has been a personal goal for some time, I did not start my watercolor painting until 2016. I have taken classes with Smithsonian Associates, Marni Maree, and George Mason University’s OLLI program. I packed my painting supplies in preparation for our move to central Va and have to get back to my painting to the level I want. I joined CVWG earlier this year to help return to my art.
Here are a few of my personal favorites from our travels.

I look forward to deepening my ties to central Va, the Guild, and exploring this fascinating media! Comment to this post or drop me an email with any ideas you have for the website or our club.
Welcome Mark as both a relatively new member to the guild and now as the new webmaster. I hope to meet you at our next meeting coming up this Monday.
