Our Small Works Exhibition is Underway
Due to the impacts from the COVID-19 virus, our CVWG activities have been significantly curtailed this year. But, even an unseen agent cannot prevent our members from creating great art. Our host gallery is Crozet Artisan Depot and you can view them online at this link.
The Depot’s hours for the month of September have been extended so they are now open:
- Monday– 10-5
- Tuesday– Closed
- Wednesday thru Saturday –10-5
- Sunday– 12-5
The Depot is serious about the safety of its customers and exhibitors. So, wear your mask and come see the CVWG Small Works Exhibit during the month of September.
A special Thank You to member, workshop leader, and professional artist Peg Sheridan for her help in hanging our exhibit.
The gallery is located at 5791 Three Notch’d Rd. , Crozet, VA 22932. You can find them using this map.
Member and CVWG Treasurer, Brenda Hounshell reports she has several paintings featured in a dual show along with a fellow watercolorist whose works have inspired Brenda, Kristen Colebank. The exhibit is hosted by the Smith House Galleries of the Arts Council of the Valley. Says Brenda,
When I first began painting using watercolor, one of the first artists I admired locally was Kristen and I have followed her work since around 2012.
Follow the links above to find Brenda’s Facebook album and artist talk video (be sure your speakers are not muted and volume is turned up) about the show and what it is like for her to be featured with one of her mentors and friends. While this is a virtual gallery viewable from the comfort of you home, the gallery is located at 311 South Main St in Harrisonburg, VA 22801, phone 540-801-8779,
Member Chee Ricketts tells us that she will be teaching for OLLI UVA this fall and that “…getting ready to teach a watercolor class on Zoom has been a challenge, but I’m having lots of fun preparing.” Good luck, Chee!
